I learned this when I started getting serious about coin magic. The retention taught is very fun and I I’ll strengthen your coin magic if you practice. I highly recommend this.

Dana

I am just learning coin moves and I really like this retention vanish as it looks much more normal than the usual one we learn. It also has a lot of uses for vanishes, productions, and changes. I would consider this one of my best purchases this year and one that I feel I will definitely use.

Don

In spite of it's brevity, this is the best and most in-depth download on the Retention Vanish. The slow-motion shots are the best! To the point and easy to understand. Great download!

Gene

Love this download! One of my favorite retention’s. Very similar in theory to “Coin” by Eric Chien, but I found Tri Ryuzaki’s method easier for me. Another plus is that the retention vanish itself and its routines and applications are definitely a social media pleaser.

Allan

This is by far one of the most impressive coin vanishes I have ever seen, but it is not simple to perform at all, at least for me. If you are a coin expert, then you might have less trouble with it. For me, it will probably take some time to master it, but I am definitely motivated to practice it.

John

This is a great retention vanish of a coin. It is well explained with over the shoulder camera views. There is also slow motion replays to help explain the motion. The video quality is great and the voice over (in English) is extremely helpful and very well done. Subtitles would have been very hard to focus on the instruction. Overall this video was excellent and the effect is great.

Nathaniel

I’m brand new to sleight of hand, especially coin sleight of hand. This is most definitely on the advanced side of skill. I knew that going into it but I just want everyone else to know before purchasing this trick. I’m not anywhere close to doing the main retention move well. This is because I’m still learning the basic palming techniques. For half the normal price, it was worth purchasing just to see what one can do when they reach a higher level of skill. In summary - if you’re a beginner and just starting out, this will be out of reach, however, if you’re still curious and want to see one of the most incredible retention vanishes, I’d say get this anyway. Great job, Tri!

Mike

Wow, this is a great move. It just feels nice. If you are new to coin magic, it's going to be quite difficult, but if you are someone that is already familiar with using the concealment, it is quite doable. For smaller coins, I modified the display hold to just one finger and thumb to great result.

Michael

It's amazing how many ways you can hide a coin in your hand.
This will be my new retention vanish. It really looks like magic.

Jorge

I love the technique and the handling of the coin vanish. The explanation of how its done, it's explained in great detail. Once again, thank you Tri Ryhzaki for sharing.

Harry

Wonderful stuff! Difficult stuff too but stay at it about a month and by god you’ll be wowing most crowds. Angles aren’t great at first but you’ll learn to work around them.

This is one for practicing and thankfully the narration is excellent along with the cinematography.

Happy Wizarding

Julián

Awesome. Not that hard to do if you are experienced in coin magic, and a bunch of variations not show in the trailer. Maybe a little bit rushed, but 10/10

Frederic

Very nice moves and routines. The main move itself is not really complicated but you will have to work for weeks before mastering it at full speed.

Like other reviews, I think the video would be better with different point of views (audience POV, different angles, slow motion). When such a video is done, it should be easy to make different versions with all point of views and different performances. It's always nice to see the subtilities between two different takes.
Thanks Tri for your work and your kindness

Pascal

While it looks almost like a camera trick, this is brilliant, pure sleight-of-hand. The basic move is within any coin worker's reach. For the rest... well, it'll keep me busy for a while ;-)
Great work.

Yann

A really nice piece of magic. This is a wonderful move that took time and dedication to look this perfect, and it kicks retention vanish up a noticeable notch. I would absolutely recommend to any magician having some experience with coins and looking to improve their technique. For anyone new to coin magic, one might want to pratice the basics well before coming to this. Nothing impossible though it will take practice and patience to execute well. If you loved Ponta the Smith, you will love this for the pureness and the speed. The effect looks stunning even for experienced magicians with trained eyes, so i'm diying to see the looks on participants faces. The playing time is short, yet no time is wasted and everything you need is inside, and the extra material and additionnal ideas are very appreciated. Worth every penny, dare i say it's a bargain for all the good content.

Conway

Perhaps the most beautiful coin vanish you'll ever see, or, with some practice, ever do. The photography is impeccable - great lighting, focus and image quality, with great exposed views, repeats to identify subtle issues and clear slomo shots. While Tri speaks fluent English, he has opted for a really well-spoken voice-over explaining every aspect in detail. If the video had only addressed the sleights themselves it would have been excellent value. Throw in the short routines, and it's a no-brainer for anyone wishing to raise their coin magic to another level. Frankly, I cannot imagine how this instructional video could possibly have been improved.

Joseph

very good a lot of good technique recommend if you are into coin magic. You will learn skills which you can use in your own routines.

Daniel

Great for any serious Intermediate Level magician wishing to take his or her coin magic to the next level!

Marshall

This is a great idea that I was able to do within the 1st hour of practice. It will take days or weeks to perfect it, but I really like the concept.

David

It's great but it would be so helpful to see the routines and effects shown from the audience POV and in real time - most of it is ONLY shown over the shoulder and without overall timing. Please add this !

John

After watching retention, I realize two things, one, that this could be a valuable technique to add to my coin work and two, that it's going to take some practice. But let's be honest with each other, since when does coin magic every come easily? I think if you do coin magic and can do an edge grip, this would be worth your time watching. Who knows, maybe you'll add it too your other moves/techniques.
